I make works that reflect the natural environment, plants that grow around me. I live in a very isolated rural spot in central Italy where I tend the land and olive grove. I am interested in our interconnection with nature, issues around the climate crisis and how painting is such a healing practice. I work on a white background to create more light, a spotlight onto nature, more pronounced in its place. The floating, impeding, unknowing, hanging in the air or the knowing, nature will will out. Vulnerability of our place on the planet. I love the toy between deliberation and spontaneity, delicacy of mark making. The drip - controlled, intended or just a natural happy accident, flow, looming. The push and pull with simple brush marks against the white paper.
